An old friend of mine used to say; "Sometimes, if it weren't for bad luck, there's be none at all".
Touché
I bought a huge collection a few years back. Some of the
stuff needed "help".
Last Monday, I finally quit procrastinating and decided to
clean up the last couple of cases. This
one was horribly stained, but struck me as being, unquestionably, a candidate
for the best "small bird" out there. The best strike I'd ever seen,
and an awesome range of color.
About a half hour after I loaded the bottle into the cylinder and flipped on the machine, I
heard crashing and banging coming from the shop. Imagine my surprise, (disgust),
when I opened the cylinder and found this...
Yep, it had been dug damaged, someone had managed to find a correct (also stained) top and replaced it from the single ring up.
I'll be the first to admit that I enjoy an occasional surprise, just not this kind. A week later it
shines like a new penny.
Both pieces...
